I have an old Craftsman rechargeable shop light that I haven't been able to use for the last year. It's probably nearly 10 years old at this point, so it should be no surprise that the battery wouldn't take a charge. After disassembling it, I took the battery to a local shop. They wanted $25 and a few days to build a new battery. I was able to get pretty much an identical replacement from Batteryhawk for half that. Only difference between the old and new is the Batteryhawk one has a little more capacity, and the cable is a couple inches longer. Luckily, I had room to hide the cable inside the handle with the battery. So far so good. I was pricing out similar replacement flashlights at $40-60. This saved me some cash and keeps plastics out of the landfill.
